New The pulsed-plasma technology (PPT) and equipment for strengthening of wearing surface of the tool and machine parts. This technology creates a strengthened layer in nanocrystalline state on the working surface of the workpiece. The layer has a thickness of 100...300 mm, hardness 9...21 GPa and alloying with Mo, Ti, N, Cr, C. For example, after PPT of the tool its workability increased: of dies of hot and cold pressing and punching (matrixes, punches) by 2-5 times; reamers, taps, profile milling cutters, broaches, gear milling cutters and metal slitting saws, knives, saws for cutting metal, wood and chip wood boards up to 4 times; disc and plane knives for cutting paper by 5...8 times; cutting tool of alloy of the VK type by 1.5 - 2 times.
